Here is where I would like to tell you about myself, Heather, the founder of Aiya Home, and why Home Decor is so important to me.

While working on the strength of my mental health over the past few years, I learned all about support. Support, from friends and family, licensed care givers, and most importantly, support from yourself. There are things that we can do in our everyday lives that will help improve our wellbeing. When I was feeling overwhelmed with work, family life, or every day environmental stressors, I would go into a design frenzy, and completely overhaul my space. Decluttering, decorating, increasing the functionality of my surroundings was the optimal way to make my space a reflection of myself. A space of pride and joy. And I noticed, that while not a cure all, making my space feel most like me, with items tailored to my everyday needs, drastically helped my ability to function within my space.

I realized then that in order to have a productive mind, I needed it to be surrounded by a productive environment. To me, that meant home decor that felt like a reflection of my family’s style. A space where a friend can walk into for the first time and go, “Oh yeah, this place is definitely you!”. It’s not just about decorating; it’s about surrounding yourself with things that makes your heart and brain happy. It’s about having things that increase the functionality of your space, and make it more seamless to work and live in.
